Louise and John’s Château du Puits es Pratx Wedding was a great day to photograph. A close bunch of friends and family had come to soak up the french way of life and celebrate with John and Louise for a few days.  The chateau is family run and has a very friendly feel to it.

The Preparations

The girls got ready for Louise’s wedding at Château du Puits es Pratx in one of the main bedrooms and there was much fun and laughter.  I love shooting preparations because there is always such a buzz in the room.  I think it really starts the story brilliantly.  Telling the whole story of the day is so important.

The Wedding Ceremony at The Chapel in Ginestras

I met John outside the church for a quick portrait but basically shot lots of images of guests arriving from all over the world.  The church was large inside and the vicar was great and let me shoot from the front, which is always cool because I can capture the expressions and emotions of the guests and the couple. Afterwards everyone gathered in the street to say congratulations to the couple.

The Photography at Château du Puits es Pratx

After the ceremony, some of the guest went missing!  Usually I would just photograph what was happening but there was no one there.  So I took the opportunity to take some portraits of the couple.  This meant I didn’t have to interrupt them when their guests finally arrived.  We also took a few after dinner.  I love photographing at this time.  The light is fantastic here in the south of France.
