Chateau Rieutort is a very special wedding venue in the south of France.  I have shot there a couple of times and it’s very beautiful with wonderful staff.  When Oskana and Mark asked me to be there Chateau Rieutort wedding photographer I was excited to be back there again.

Most of my couples want someone who captures the story of the day rather than loads of posing. I love to capture emotions and tell a personal story, so anyone looking at the images could imagine what it was like to be there.  Oskana and Mark were both really great to work with and on the same page as me when it came to want they wanted for their Chateau Rieutort wedding photographer.

I started with the couple’s preparation at Chateau Rieutort.  Everyone was in good spirits and I enjoyed capturing this part of the day.  The church ceremony was really emotional. Very powerful. I was so happy when the priest told me I was welcome to shoot whatever I wanted from where ever I wanted. I am always respectful of the dignity of the occasion but shooting from the front means I can capture faces (and of course emotion!).

The day continued back at Chateau Rieutort and the children loved running through the bubble machine, which provided me with a great opportunity for fun images.  The couple took part in a traditional  Russian wedding tradition, the bride and the groom should bite the karavai (bread) and then compare the size of their pieces of bread to see who will rule the roost in their marriage.  The stakes were high! But luckily, it was deemed their bites were equal.

We took 15 minutes to create some beautiful portraits of the couple. I love the light at Chateau Rieutort, it was so perfect that day.

Here are some favourites from the day…
