Domaine Fon de Rey Wedding
Quentin and Katrina’s Domaine Fon de Rey Wedding was a beautiful occasion. The domain is very close to where I live but it was my first time shooting there. It was stunning and had so many little areas for images. It was early September and the weather was wonderful, warm but not too hot for guests.
The Preparations
Quentin and Katrina and their families and friends were all staying at the the domaine. The couple both have a little boy and a little girl and it was nice and easy for them to be staying at the domaine with their kids.
There were grandparents on hand to take the strain but the morning was incredibly relaxed. Katrina’s mum poured some champagne and they relaxed while being transformed in hair and make-up.
The Wedding Ceremony at Domaine Fon de Rey
The ceremony was held at a local church, l’église de St Cyr et Sainte Juliette, Plan de l’Église, Pomérols. Made more special by the fact it was conducted by a family member. Katrina and her father were piped into the service. I enjoyed watching the children during the service, they provided me with some great pictures.
The Photography
I like to shoot in a documentary way for most of the day. I tell a story and let peoples personalities shine through. Because seeing all your friends and family in one place at one time, united in celebration is a pretty special thing to capture. So I like to shoot for joy and happiness. We did a few family groups and I took Katrina and Quentin off for ten minutes around the domaine and into the surrounding vineyards.
I loved shooting their Domaine Fon de Rey wedding, I hope you enjoy the pictures!
The Awards
I won an award from The Wedding Photojournalist Association for this images of Katrina having a cheeky nip of whisky before she went into the ceremony.
