DOMAINE LE CASTELET WEDDING

Faye and Michael had the most magical of days at their Domaine le Castelet wedding.  The intense heat of the summer in the south of France had passed and a more gentle warmth surrounded the friends and family that travelled from all over to celebrate with them.  The couple had a little baby and she was as cute as a button.  They took everything in their stride and didn’t stop smiling all day.

The Preparations

The wedding at Domaine le Castelet started with photographing the arrival of the guys.  They cracked open the whisky (a local one to the region) and toasted for a little dutch courage.  Then it was off to see the girls who were in hair and make up. Everyone was in high spirits.  I enjoy capturing this part of the day.  I can chat and get to know people.  This in really important because to get the natural pictures that capture people at their best, I need them to feel relaxed around me.  I’m a trusted insider, rather than an outsider with a big camera.

The Wedding Ceremony at Domaine Le Castelet

The couple asked a friend to conduct their wedding ceremony.  Michael walked down the aisle to great cheers and applause and then it was Faye’s turn.  Michael held their little girl as he watched his soon to be wife walk down the aisle.  They had sweet, personal reading from friends and family.  They sealing the wedding with a kiss and all the guests followed them to a wonderful drinks reception.

The Photography

I like to shoot in a hands-off relaxed way; capturing personalities, emotion and fun. I spent most of the day doing this.  The couple opted for a handful of group pictures.  We spent ten minutes shooting some really relaxed couples pictures.  I like to give gentle direction rather than anything forced or fake.

I loved shooting their wedding.  I hope you enjoy the pictures.
