Domaine Michaud Wedding
Sandy and Victoria’s Domaine Michaud Wedding was hot, hot, hot! In fact the hottest weekend of the year in France. The temperature reached 40 degrees! The domain is very close to the stunning walled city of Carcassonne. In fact you can see the magnificent city from the domaine. Domaine Michaud is in the most stunning spot, with views all around. The perfect spot for a wedding in the south of France.
The Preparations
When I arrived, Victoria and Sandy were both getting ready for the day ahead. The beauty of a couple getting ready in the same place is that I can flit between the two camps. Everyone was in a great mood and the girls were really excited.
The Wedding Ceremony at Domaine Michaud
The wedding ceremony was held outside. I loved the couples choice of simple wooden chairs and their aisle centre piece was really stunning. There were songs and readings and the couple wrote their own vows which made the day really personal. After the ceremony the couple were showered with confetti.
The Photography
It was so hot for the guests, that I shot their handful of group pictures under a shady tree, which was a welcome break from the searing heat. Equally we went off for a few images of the two of them much later in the day when it had cooled a little.
The Food
The domaine is famed for it’s amazing food and it was totally delicious! The day is run by Naomi-esmée, who is brilliant and speaks several languages. Her attention to detail was incredible and i know Sandy and Victoria were impressed too. Her brother is the in house chef and they make quite the team.
I loved shooting their Domain Michaud wedding, I hope you enjoy the pictures!
The Awards
Brides Magazine kindly awarded me photo of the week for this image of Sandy and Victoria at sunset.
